Lindy was preceded in death by his parents Jep and Zelma Clemons of Brownwood, Texas, and his brothers Jep II, Garland, and Olen Kay ("K-Boy") Clemons, also from the great state of Texas, and his loving wife, Mary K. Clemons who was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, but passed away on June 20, 2014, in Fresno, California.

Lindy was born on February 22, 1931 in Lometa, Texas, and he was very proud to tell everyone that he shares a birthday with "George" Washington. He was also proud of the fact that he was named after Charles Lindbergh the famous aviator, because his mom thought that he was so handsome! Lindy graduated from Lometa High School in Lometa, Texas in 1946, where he was a top athlete and lettered in football, basketball, and was the singles champion in tennis.

After high school, he attended Howard Payne Bible College in Brownwood, Texas, then joined the U.S. Navy in 1948, serving our county for four years, and just recently received a Medal of Honor in 2015, from Senator Jim Costa, for his service and battle in the Korean War. Lindy went to work as an Engineer for Santa Fe Railroad in 1953, retiring after 33 years. Early in 1959, Lindy met the love of his life, Mary "Kathy" Clemons one day while working on the train. Kathy and her sister Billie Jean were on their way to California from visiting Texas, and were on a layover for the night in Brownwood, Texas. Lindy had two pieces of ammunition to woo her; his Great Dane "Vicky" and his 1959 Pink Cadillac. He rushed home to get them both to show her, and it must've worked, because 6 months later, Lindy married Kathy, along with her three very young children, Linda, Steve and Tom.

In 1964, Kathy gave Lindy his first and only child, Michelle Lynette, and the true meaning of "daddy's little girl" began! Lindy was the best husband, father, grandfather, uncle and provider in the world!! His quick humor and "inappropriate" comments in the most "inappropriate" places, is what everyone loved about his personality. He just said it like it was, and didn't care who he offended, because that's how he felt! Everyone that knew Lindy, has a "Lindy story", and he is going to be deeply, deeply missed, but we know that Kathy was waiting for him when he entered the gates of Heaven, and they both are so very happy together again!

Lindy leaves behind his daughter, Michelle Bradford and her husband Clay of Oakhurst, CA his step children Steven, Linda (both of Southern California), and Tom Rose of South Carolina and all of their children; his granddaughter Heather Piccolo and her husband Jarod, granddaughter Kaitlyn Forcella, and grandson Dylan Martinez; his great grandson, who is named after him, Cayden Charles Peterson, as well as his unborn great granddaughter, due this June, Aurora Piccolo all of Clovis, CA; and His Niece's Suzie, Dee Donna, and nephew Jep III Clemons of Texas, and niece Melodee Wagner and nephew Toby Bartz both of Sacramento.

Our family would like to thank the wonderful residents, managers and staff at Yosemite Gardens where he resided for the past 3 years, for their love, care and friendship that helped fill that void when his wife passed away; Dr. Quinn of Kaiser Permanente, for his devoted care, love and patience over the years; Thank you to Carlos Bisuano of Kaiser Permanente's Laboratory for your friendship and always being so patient, loving and gentle with Lindy the many times he had to come and get his blood drawn; And last but not least, thank you so very much for all of the loving care that the staff of "Stephen Home" gave during his last days before he went to be with our glorious Lord, Jesus Christ!
