Diane Gordon (Brackett)

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Diane Gordon (Brackett), 83. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Fresno, CA. Diane was born on June 22, 1943, to loving parents, T.C. Brackett, Jr. and Christine Willis (Brackett-Leigh). Diane was a beloved mother, wife, and grandmother, who cherished all the wonderful years she spent with her family.

Diane built a life full of family, faith, work, and creativity. Diane always focused on the positive things in her life. Even in life’s most challenging moments, her infectious smile and gentle optimism lifted everyone around her. She taught her children to love one another unconditionally and to respect and be kind to all.

She gave generously through sharing her love of teaching. Diane had a way of making people feel important and loved. She was a cosmetology instructor for over 20 years where she inspired generations of students with her warmth, humor, and dedication. Diane always spoke fondly of her students and their accomplishments. She also loved crafting; Diane was an avid knitter and crocheter. She also taught crochet classes at her local community center. Every Christmas you could count on a new handmade gift from Diane.

Diane is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Forbis, her three children, Shelly and husband Kitrick of Rocklin, Lynn and her husband Doug of Fowler, Phillip and his wife Wendy of Rio Linda; and the cherished stepmother to three, Jaynee, Jason and his wife Irene, Joseph of Fresno, whom she adopted into her family after her marriage to Jerry Forbis. Siblings, Jerry and his wife Georgia Brackett of Fresno, David and his wife Dori Brackett of Bakersfield Johnny Brackett of Charleston, S.C., Kathy and her husband Jimmy Young (Bracket) of Shelby, N.C.

Diane was the proud grandmother of 4 grandchildren including Brittany, Katlynn (Shelly), Whitney, Rachel (Lynn), 7 (Forbis) grandchildren, Hunter, Joshua, Meadow, Kyle, Sarah, Mia, Caleb; 2 great grandchildren, Stella, Charlotte, 2 (Forbis) great grandchildren, Violet, Jasper.

She leaves behind a legacy of profound grace, fierce devotion, and unconditional love that will live on through her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Rest in peace, Mom. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we will never part.

Diane’s family will be hosting A Celebration of Life for Diane on Sunday, October 4, 2026, 12:00-3:00 at The Palomino Event Center, 2111 Tuolumne Street, Fresno, CA 93721.
